About This Spot

Stepping into Mickey Spillane's, you're immediately embraced by a vibrant and welcoming energy that feels both lively and familiar. Nestled in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, this bar strikes a unique balance between a bustling nightspot and a space where genuine connections flourish. The playlist—the perfect mix of pop classics—keeps the mood upbeat without overpowering conversations, inviting you to settle in and soak up the good vibes.

The pace here is unhurried yet dynamic, a neighborhood gem where bartenders aren’t just mixing drinks but adding a personal touch to every order, often engaging with subtle humor or a shared smile. The atmosphere pulses with a sense of community, where regulars and newcomers alike find common ground in spirited conversations and laughter, enhanced by a backdrop of thoughtful service that never feels forced.

When it comes to food and drinks, Mickey Spillane’s menu complements the approachable spirit of the place. Whether it’s savoring the comfort of spicy buffalo chicken nachos or pairing a draft beer—handily priced for generous pours—with a platter of loaded fries, the offerings feel designed to enhance the shared moment rather than steal the show. For those who like a little flair, the frozen margaritas with unexpected twists, like the spicy watermelon, add a playful edge that’s hard to resist.

This isn’t just a bar; it’s a space that celebrates authenticity and inclusivity, making it a staple in the neighborhood’s social tapestry. Whether you’re drawn by the expertly crafted drinks, the engaging bar-side banter, or the easygoing crowd that feels just a bit like family, Mickey Spillane’s offers a welcoming refuge where every visit feels like coming home.

Mariana (I believe that’s how her name is spelled) was an excellent server who made the experience with me and friends absolutely amazing last night! Would definitely go back as an NYC local and would recommend if you’re into gay bars

Couple of Fun
We had the best time sitting at the bar. Can't get over how cute our bartender was (Hayley). Never seen a bartender dancer more than the customers ! Felt right at home. Great atmosphere, music (highlights were Abba and Madonna). An absolute hit. Kudos to the owners - food rocked as well

This place has been a staple for years, recommended by locals, and it’s not just a gay bar. They have cheap frozen margaritas that actually hit, and it’s only $2 extra to add a flavor. The large size is $10 (and it’s not the one shown in their photos). The spicy watermelon margarita is also really good and has a nice kick. The pop music is fun, but it gets super crowded on weekends. In the summer, it’s really nice to sit outside, though there’s no music out there.

We stumbled upon this place after leaving The Ritz Bar, which was entertaining for about a minute. ATMOSPHERE: It's a sports bar. A gay sports bar! The inside is intimately lit and has good background music. There are outdoor seats too. MENU: They do serve food but I didn't get a chance to look at the menu. BEVERAGE: Langunitas Beer I got this due to the alcohol volume being higher than comparably-priced beers. It had a bitter aftertaste but was alright. SERVICE: Our female server was friendly & attentive. OVERALL: Nice place to chill and have a few without the pretentious clubby vibe.

Been coming to this place for about a year now. This place never fails to disappoint. Started coming here last summer and I could always count on a strong stiff drink after a hard day of work. First time back in the winter and it is the same strong “heavy handed” drinks. It’s always good to see Zack (the bar tender) and other familiar faces. Now new food menu items have taken this place to a new level. Is this a neighborhood bar or a high end lounge? Either way, come through and experience the safe and inclusive (heterosexual friendly) atmosphere, the delicious foods, and high quality drinks.

We had a great time at Mickey Spillane's. The Buffalo wings was very good but a little salty from the sauce, Fries very tasty. The $5 Margaritas were good. You drink them like water but you'll feel good after. The hostess Jordan F. body was giving it life!!!.....But I must say the host that gave us the most was Ms.Alexis Jones...she made sure we was good. It was our first time coming to Mickey Spillane's and I must say we had a great time. I do recommend the giving. Everybody was so nice, no drama. Mickey's is the place for a good afterwork vibe.
